Wu Hou Temple

Martial Marquis Memorial Temple (Wu Hou Temple) is dedicated to Zhuge Liang, the Martial Marquis of Shu in the Three Kingdoms Period.Zhuge Liang was the personification of noble character and intelligence.

Located in the south suburb of Chengdu, the temple covers 37,000 square meters. The date of its establishment is unclear, only that it was built next to the temple of Liu Bei, the emperor of Shu. It was combined with the Temple of Liu Bei at the beginning of the Ming Dynasty. Surrounded by old cypresses and classical red walls, the temple evokes nostalgia.

The main body of the temple is divided into five sections, the Gate, the second Gate, the Hall of Liu Bei, the corridor, and the Hall of Zhuge Liang, all of which run south to north. Inside, clay sculptures of Shu Emperor and ministers stand together, making them a special feature.

The most valuable cultural relic within the temple is the stele set up in 809. This huge stele is a statement about the morality and achievements of Zhuge Liang.

His great personality, his dedicated service to others, and his outstanding intelligence place Zhuge Liang above all emperors, generals, and ministers in history. A visit to the temple illuminates his status with the Chinese people.

Dujiangyan

The Dujiangyan Dam, 45km north of Chengdu, is an ancient technological wonder of the country. More than 2000 yers ago, Li Bing(250-200BC), as a local governor of the Shu State, designed this water control and irrigation dam and organized thousands of local people to complete the project to check the Mingjiang River.For many years the river,flooded the Chengdu agricultural area and local farmers suffered a lot from the water disaster. Due to the success of the project, the dam automatically diverts the Mingjiang River and channels it into irrigation canals. For many years the dam has continued to make the most of the water conservancy works. Expansion has been undertaken since 1949 and at present the system does a good job of irrigating farming land across 33counties of the western part of Sichuan Province. Local people feel proud of the system becaude it has supported a large amount of people in their daily life.


     

 

Jiuzhaigou Valley

Jiuzhai Valley is locally known as Jiuzhaigou (Chinese for “Nine Village Valley”). It is a national park located in the Min Shan mountain range, Northern Sichuan in South Western China. It is best known for its fabled blue and green lakes, spectacular waterfalls, narrow conic karst land forms and its unique wildlife. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992; the park joined the Man and Biosphere Conservation Network in 1997 and has also received IUCN and ISO 14,001 accreditations.


  


Leshan Giant Buddha

The Giant Buddha on the east bank of Mingjiang River in Leshan City, Sichuan Province, rests his feet where three rivers——the Minjiang, Qingyi river  and Dadu river. The Buddha faces Emei Mountain across the river and at its back is the western slope of Lingyun Mountain.

The Buddha is the largest Buddha in China, the height is 71meters, he has 14m head, and 24m shoulders. The Buddha's ears are 6m long, the mouth and the eye length is 3.3 meters, the eyebrow and the nose length is 5.6 meters, the neck height 3 meters, from the knee to the instep 28 meters, the foot width is 8.5 meters, the people describe it: "The mountain is a Buddha, Buddha is a mountain".


 

Mt. Emei

Mt. Emei is located within the boundaries of the Sichuan Mt. Emei cityProminent peak Wan Fuding elevation 3079.3 meters.

Chengdu Panda Base

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, or simply Chengdu Panda Base, is a non-profit research and breeding facility for giant pandas and other rare animals. It is located in Chengdu, Sichuan, China.

Chengdu Panda Base was founded in 1987. It started with 6 giant pandas that were rescued from the wild. By 2008, it had 124 panda births, and the captive panda population has grown to 83.

Its stated goal is to "be a world-class research facility, conservation education center, and international educational tourism destination."



 

 The Southern Sichuan Bamboo Sea

Characterized by bamboo scenecy, the Southern Sichuan Bamboo Sea is a "China's National Scenic Spot", one of "the 40 Best Tourist Attractions", a "Chinese Biospheric Protection Zone". It locates in the southwest Liantian Mountains of Yibin City, and covers an area of 120 square kilometers with an elevation from 600 to 1000.2 meters. In its central region, moren than 5000 hectares of big tall  and upright bamboo shelters 28 ridges and peaks high and low, 500 hills big ande small. Bamboo grows in the fields at different levels and in the mountains and hills that stretches long and far. The place looks like a misty vast green sea. Hence comes the name of "Bamboo Sea".

 

   

 

Huanglongxi Ancient Town 

Located in the southern part of the Chengdu Plain, Huanglongxi is 40 kilometers away from Chengdu City and 35 kilometers away from Shuangliu County, leading by tourism, agricultural tourism on the basis of the model town.

It is known as the hometown of Chinese folk art fire dragon. Huanglongxi is located at the intersection of Fuhe and Luxi Rivers in the southwest of Shuangliu County, Chengdu. It is a water-west town of western Sichuan with beautiful scenery, long history and rich cultural heritage. It has rich natural landscape resources and humanistic tourism resources.
